Roberto Pelaez Bio 2014
Roberto Pelaez is a financial consultant and an
instructor for the Center for Financial Training. Mr. Pelaez has over 37 years
of financial and banking experience. He started his banking career with Bank of
America International Division in Miami in 1975 as a trainee credit analyst. In
1982 he joined Barnett Bank as the head of the International Credit Department
and served at Barnett in multiple managerial and lending positions for 16
years. Mr. Pelaez joined Barclays Bank in 1998 as Director, Corporate Banking
Division. He served as Director of Commercial Banking for both Bank United and
Great Florida Bank.
In October of 2006 he became President of Bank of
Florida, Miami Dade County and held that position until June 2010 when the bank
was bought by Everbank, the largest bank headquartered in Florida. Everbank
named him Area Executive and Senior Lender for Miami-Dade County, a position he
held until December, 2012.
Roberto Pelaez has been involved in the Miami
community throughout his career and volunteered in many organizations. He
served as Chairman of Robert Morris & Associates, Dade County; he has been
a board member for the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and the
Center for Financial Training. He is currently the Chairman of the Miami-Dade
County Industrial Development Authority Board.
Mr. Pelaez is a graduate from Jacksonville
University.
